Mark you Calendar:

  • The K of C will have a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Leeds Memorial Park on Monday, May 29th at 11:00 AM (Memorial Day). The Park is located on Highway 119 South. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information please call Ned Barrett at (205) 991-3123.
  • Totus Tuus is a Catholic "Vacation Bible School" type event for children. Our parish will be hosting it again this year. July 24-28, 2017
  • There will be an all-day "Fatima Conference" in the Parish Life Center on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Speakers will be members of the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word and Author and EWTN Host Donna Marie Cooper-O'Boyle.

Bishop Baker announces Marian Year for the Diocese of Birmingham, beginning on May 13, 2017, the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Mary to the three shepherd children at Fatima inPortugal.

Fr. Jim Naughton Scholarship - All registered youth of St. Theresa entering grades 6 - 12 the next school year are eligible. Three each 1,000 scholarships will be awarded based on the criteria set forth in the application form (essays, services to the church and community, activities, letters of reccommendation).

Fr. Bean is happy to announce - This Summer the parish will be hosting a seminarian, Br. Matthew Mary, MFVA. Br. Matthew is a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Eternal Word in Irondale, Alabama, and made his perpetual vows in 2014. He studies at Mt. Saint Mary's Seminary in Emmetsburg, Maryland.

New Lecture Series with Fr. Bean: "Exploring Christian Mysticism" Each Wednesday in the Parish Life Center Hall, from 10;00 am - 11:30 am.

Adult Education / Formation - Sundays at 9:00 am in the Parish Life Center Meeting Room. Various topics each week - see the latest bulletin for a listing.

Knights of Columbus Yard Sale - June 9 - 10, 8am - 3pm.

K of C - 4th Annual Family Fun and Fishing Derby - Saturday, May 20, 9am - 3pm at the Watkins Property, Pell City, AL. See bulletin for details.

Three awards of $1,000 each will be awarded to registered youth of St. Theresa who are entering grades 6 - 12, and complete an application form, and required essays and letters of reccommendation. All documentation must be received by June 18.

Legion of Mary - Meeting on Tuesdays following the 9am Mass in the Library / Meeting Room.

Maria Goretti Prayer Group - Mondays in the Parish Hall starting September 12. All girls ages 13 to 20 are welcomed to visit, pray the Rosary, and discuss the difficult issues facing girls today: dating, purity, temptations, Catholic identity, etc. Monday evenings, 6:30 - 8:30. Check the current Bulletin for changes in venue.

SACRED MARRIAGE - Hosted by Bruce and Loretta Benik at their residence in Leeds on Tuesdays, starting at 7 PM for one hour. Based on the book written by Gary Thomas. New couples small group meeting, contact Bruce or Loretta - see September 4 bulletin for contact information and details. All married couples invited - come as you are.

Youth Group T-shirts - The St. Theresa Youth Group is selling T-shirts to raise money for activities. Only $15 each for all sizes. See the bulletin for details and a picture.

Youth Protection 1 is mandated for any adult who “works with minors on a regular basis or has a reasonable chance of being alone with a minor.” The seminar schedule is updated on a regular basis (click here for the Diocese web site and click on "Child and Youth Protection Information).  Please note that advanced sign-up for each workshop is a must. Bingo! - Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month starting June 16. Cards on sale at 6pm. There will be a total of 6 games played. Snacks and refreshments available for sale. No alcohol permitted. Must be 18 or older to play per city ordinance. Proceeds to benefit the Parish Life Center. See the bulletin for details.

No more Aluminum Cans - We are no longer collecting aluminum cans for the Youth Group. Please do not leave cans outside the rectory. Thank you!

Family Announcements - Each week, the church bulletin lists Births, Baptisms, Birthdays, Parishioner Shut-Ins and Sick, and Deaths.  We rely on your help in making sure these lists are accurate.  Contact the Parish Office if you have any information that should be listed - and to schedule any Mass Intentions for the deceased and those in need of prayer.

Bishop Baker blesses the new Parish Life Center

Volunteers Needed - St. Theresa needs your help in each of these holy ministries!  Proclaim God's Word; assist in warmly greeting and seating fellow parishioners and visitors; distribute the Eucharistic Sacraments during Communion.  Prayerfully consider each of these ministries, and contact the following persons for more information and to volunteer:

Church Cleaners - sign up for a one-month commitment as a family or as an individual to clean the church.  We need at least 3 people to volunteer for each month.  A sign-up sheet is located in the vestibule for 2016.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Altar Servers - Deacon Rubio (577-0366)

Linen Team Member - Special Cleaning and Ironing of the Linens used at Mass. Adrianne Price (542-9313)

Palms - If you have blessed palms from past years, you may bring them to church for us to dispose of.  You may also dispose of them in a natural way - - such as burning or cutting into small pieces and burying in your garden.  For those who would like to fold their new palms into a cross - click here.
